About Robynn
About
Robynn, a folk-psychedelic solo artist, captivates with soulful vocals, and acoustic guitar. Collaborating with musicians like Rob Shaffer (saxophone), Randall Closson (guitar), and Maryann Hoffman (vocals), she blends folk, art rock, and gypsy vibes. As “Robynn & the Y-knots,” she fronts a full band for festivals and fundraisers. Robynn performs at cozy spots like The Blue Tavern, La Florida Coffee & Wine, Rae’s Restaurant, and stages like the Amicus Brewing Ventures, The Sound Bar, The Getaway Grill and Palaver Tree Theater. Her sets are wonderfully eclectic—originals like the poetic Apocalyptic Butterflies and the dystopian-tinged upcoming release Conversation in Back sit alongside groovy vintage covers, bluesy soul classics, psychedelic gems, and elegant jazz standards such as Summertime, Cry Me a River, and Stormy Weather. Whether delivering reflective balladry or uplifting grooves, Robynn’s music feels both deeply personal and warmly communal.
Artist Bio
Inspired by music therapy during cancer treatment, Robynn O’Leary started playing music in public in 2017 when she first stepped foot on the Open Mic stage at the Warehouse. During the pandemic, she hosted a virtual Open Mic for two years that aired on YouTube, Twitch and Facebook. Since then, she acts as administrator for the “Open Mic Tallahassee” Facebook group where she posts reviews of local Open Mics. Robynn was a band member of Pineapple Tuesday for 3 years, where she sang back up vocals and played the keys. Robynn started writing songs in 2019. She said recently, “When you hang out with musicians all of the time, music becomes your language. After awhile, songs start writing themselves, and you just can’t help it.”

Together on the Same Ground is a heartfelt collection of original songs by Robynn O’Leary born from a raw, live studio session at Seepersaud Studios in Tallahassee, Florida. Captured in one organic flow, this EP brings together a tight-knit group of musicians for an intimate, grounded sound that feels both immediate and timeless.
Featuring the soulful electric guitar work of Drew Whitfield, the driving rhythms of Will Anderson on congas and Ben Bowman on drums, the steady foundation of Brian Bertucci on bass, and the harmonies of Mandy Stich and Drew Whitfield on backup vocals. The entire session was expertly engineered by Brian Bertucci, preserving the nuance of the organic performance.
The five-track EP includes:
• “Holding onto Life”
• “Look Up”
• “The Stars Fill the Sky”
• “Climbing this Mountain”
• “Conversation in Back”
From reflective moments of resilience to uplifting grooves and tender conversations set to music, “Together, on the Same Ground” invites listeners to stand side by side — connected, present, and sharing the same earth beneath our feet.

Shadows on the Wall draws listeners into Plato’s shadowed cave, where prisoners chained in darkness perceive only flickering projections on stone — mere illusions of a greater reality. With a subtle nod to the fire that consumes books and knowledge in Fahrenheit 451, the EP questions the thin line between perceived truth and enforced ignorance.

The recording of Still Small Voice has been in the works for more than a year. Robynn wrote the song in 2019 with a folksie vibe, then recently rewrote it as a Celtic Christmas song. Her daughters, Maggie Hernandez and Catie LaLonde spent time in the studio during separate family visits allowing for three part harmony, and the fulfillment of Robynn’s dream to perform a song with her daughters. To be released before Christmas 2026

Reviews

Review:
“Wow! How witty, astute, observant, and poetic. Conversation in Back is both intellectual and beautiful. 🧡
Some highlights that raised my vibrations and echoed my sentiment:
Way up here lookin' down I see us together on the same ground
Paper thin, the oxygen fleece covers our wars and our peace
Breathe in, then exhale
Soar above the tangled veil
Now I know I can see the sound
Hear the pictures that can't be found…
Thank you, Robynn, Rob, and the band. I have this song saved and on repeat.” - Patrick Garnet
